Putah Creek State Wildlife Area

Putah Creek State Wildlife Area (cross-country hike to the 'Crags')

First you float across the creek. Then begin the hike up the canyon. You must get through the reeds, then get past a couple poison oak thickets. Once you get past these thickets, you hike up the canyon through the oaks. Follow an old jeep trail up to the Crags.

How to Get There:

From Yolo county, Woodland and Davis, take Highway 128 up through Winters toward Lake Berryessa.  Park on the side of the road just upstream from the last fishing access park site. You will then walk down the creek bank to put in your canoe or inflatable boat to float across to the wildlife area.
