Participate in this self-guided event to help scientists and Tuleyome track biodiversity in the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument for California Biodiversity Week 2026! All observations made through iNaturalist in the Monument from 9/5/26 to 9/13/26 will automatically be included in this BioBlitz project. Please be sure to also join the Find 30 Species for CA Biodiversity Day 2026 project on iNaturalist - this will help the organizers of California Biodiversity Week track participation.
If you're new to iNaturalist, we encourage you to give it a try - it's easy to use and fun! You can use iNaturalist to record your observations of plants, animals, mushrooms and more! Don't worry if you're not an expert naturalist - iNaturalist has AI tools to help you identify organisms and a large community of naturalists that can make suggestions about identifications. Your observations can help researchers who are studying distributions of different species.
Your first step should be to download the iNaturalist app to your phone and then create an account. Once that's done, check out this tutorial for some suggestions about how best to log observations.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Geoff Benn at gbenn@tuleyome.org.
